Follow weekend


Parc de l'Impératrice (The park of the Empress ) is a wonderful green space that slopes gently down to the right side of Lake Geneva. It's located next to the Botanical Garden, on the territory of the commune of Pregny-Chambésy. One of my favourite places to read books, think about life and future projects. Every Saturday morning I'm training my running abilities exactly passing this place.

I would love to recommend one of the most beautiful regions in Italy- Liguria and Cinque Terre. Its a great idea for a family/ single/romantic/ active holidays. Italian coast offers you beautiful sandy beaches, delicious food, wonderful time in a romantic and colourful small villages and adventure in nature: Genova, Portofino, Portovenere, Rapallo and many more amazing villages are waiting for your visit.

Pick a mango

Mango- the king of the fruits. It is full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Mangoes- are the best fruits which you can offer to your skin and body.





Sweet and delicious fruit it can be eaten on its one. Just like a healthy snack without any additional ingredients. You can also make a delicious smoothies. My recipe for the healthy mango smoothie:



Ingredients

1 chopped ripe mango
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon honey (or sugar )


Preparation:

Place the mango, yogurt, honey in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Enjoy

PS: Mango smoothie it is a perfect breakfast option.

Pick The Health- homemade strawberry jam

Your breakfast with  homemade jam  is like a fairytale. In general I am not a big specialist, but I like to do simple jams for my own use.  I prefer to make jam at home, instead of buying one (for me it is to many preservatives). Check my recipe for the homemade strawberry jam:






You can now enjoying your own homemade jam. I didn't use any pectin.  But do not worry it is really tasty. I will follow my motto- less is more. Less ingredients-  it is just healthier. Jam will keep for around a week.
Eat your jam with the natural yogurt, bread, croissants etc.

Easter walks

Easter is a good time to slow down and eat a lot, sleep a lot and have a great time with the family. It seams like a fairytale. In general it is good to relax. But in this easy peasy atmosphere do not forget about your health. Of course there is so many goodies available ( cakes, Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies) which you have to try but at the end it is good to move a little bit.  Just a short  walk can help you to feel fit again. Take your children, friends, parents and have a walk. Maybe the weather in Geneva is not the best  - especially this cold unpleasant wind, but really it is worth to spend few minutes outside and enjoy the Spring colours and peaceful atmosphere.

Skin Master- Coffee Body Scrub

Did you know (realise it ) that the skin is the largest organ in our body? When you use the cosmetic products all of the ingredients in those products absorb right into your blood stream.
Before I was never thinking about my skin in this perspective. But when somebody told me about that, I started to take more care about the cosmetics I use. I am always taking care about what I eat, and about active lifestyle. When I realise that maybe I am "killing myself softly" with the cosmetics which I put on my body...I started to read a lot about the solutions and the cosmetics which are just free of toxic substances.The biggest and the most educative experience it was to find the cosmetics without parabens....

In my free time I started to produce and test the homemade cosmetics- the basic ones which I can do by myself- with a little bit ingredients and which I can prepare really fast  And I am still looking for the interesting recipes and in my "home base laboratory"  I am preparing body goodies. The biggest pleasure is testing them later on my skin.  I will start to share with you the recipes for homemade- -skin-body- masters which I found and tested. Today Coffee Body Scrub. Why the sport exercises are important? The first thing that comes to my mind is the breasts and the buttocks, a flat stomach and the slender legs. I love my body. In addition to these obvious elements, there is still something very important (maybe more important ), which is created during the regular sport activity - it is NATURE of MENTALITY.

It does not sounds nice...but I am proud that my body looks good. It was not an easy way.  I was also at the beginning of the road to success now I am celebrating. I safely lost 4 kilos. 

How I did it? First of all I changed my diet. I am not eating ready snacks, ready dishes bought in supermarkets/ snack shops, on the way to work. I am not drinking artificial drinks, I am buying only fresh juices and when I have time I am doing juices at home. I discovered that I am spending around 30 minutes per a day to prepare a good healthy dish, smoothies, my lunch box etc. Before work I am trying always have a good healthy breakfast ( believe me it takes only 10 minutes to prepare a smoothie). So my first advice is to forget about miracle diet. The quality of success is wholesome food and healthy menu.

My second advice I am training. By regular sport activity, I know that I can reach the top of my dreams. Four times per a week, I am running and doing pilates. Regularity is indispensable. I found  time with dedication only to myself (its around five hours per week ). I am working for my happiness, it gives me a power which I can share with the others - my family, my partner, my coworkers.My process of transformation was calm and peaceful. I was enjoying my activity. Now, I am happy in my  body

You should do a sport regularly. I do not say that everything will come super-easy. What is more, I am telling you that there will be the blood, the sweat and the tears. That is  very good. Someone, once told me that something that costs nothing is worth nothing. There is a difference between a person who got rid of the excess pounds, he/ she went to liposuction, and the person who trained hard at the gym. Hard work gives you the healthy benefits.


Regular sport activity makes woman/ men more attractive. You are learning what a life is... it is a daily trophies, but sometimes failures. Sport gives extraordinary experience and useful skills... we are learning from the success and the failures that we met.  
Remember success must be earned primarily by you, honestly and without shortcuts. Remember only person which you are cheating is yourself...

Pick a good snack



Snack is a small portion of food eaten between regular meals. 
You know that feeling? Imagine yourself, it is 4-5 p.m. and your body wants again something. It is your rubbling stomach ....
The best solution is a small snack. 

To be honest I like pick some food during my work. And small bowl full of goodies is making me hold on. Especially that I am sure I will not put on weight. The snacks which I am choosing,  give me high nutritional value and stimulate positive thinking. 
For me the most important is to choose smart portion. My favourites snacks  are  crunchy and delicious cashew nuts and  goji berry, also called the wolf berry.
When I do not  have time for a good lunch or breakfast, I like to pick some cashews. They are high in calories. Believe me 100 g of nuts provide 553 calories.But  if  you pick  this nuts you will provide to your body vitamins (vitamins B5, B-6, B-1), minerals (manganese, potassium, copper, iron, magnesium, zinc, and selenium), soluble dietary fibre. * I like them because a few of them helps me to survive until another correct meal.
My other favourite snack is goji berry. This fruits are like SUPER HEROES. They will provide to your body all essential amino acids, proteins, vitamin C. Ohhh sorry how I could forget to inform you that they are boasting 15 times the amount of iron found in spinach. They are awesome. But you have to take care and read information from where goji berries are come from. Buy only this ones from reputable source. Why I am writing about it? Because some of them are from commercial growing parts of China... they can contain harmful ingredients (pesticides).  Just read labels. :) **

It is Spring. Take care about your skin






Spring, sun, nature, green gardens. It's enough to finally be in a good mood. We start to wear less and less clothes... and showing our skin. 

The skin is the best body reflect which shows our health both mental and physical. After long winter we are disappointed that the skin appearance is not perfect. Because we forgot about right diet, the right dose  sleep and rest. Spring is a good moment to be active and get the positive endorphins. 
 Happy mind is highly beneficial for our skin . To improve the skin appearance we have to nutrish body from the inside. Diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables and  grains is the best think which we can give for our skin. Cosmetics are only the supplement for our vital force. We should eat a lot of vegetables and fruits to recover the natural beauty. Remember about suitable amount of water and forget about sweets- it is easier to replace them with oranges, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, apples. 



Try to reduce the cosmetics which you were using during the winter time. It is good to do a little bit of detoxification.

Start  your days with positive affirmation, yoga session, jogging. Spring is the time when the sport goals become easier. The days are longer, and weather is better - so there is not excuses for laziness. If most of the time you are sitting behind the desk, trapped between four walls... trust  me after work  - movies, couch time, chips, or a glass of wine will not  help you feel better. You can provide endorphins to your body only through physical activity.
After a busy day prepare yourself silencing and regenerating bath. Enjoy your body- enjoy your skin.

Probably there is not a person who did not use the toothpaste, deodorant, soap or face cream. First contact  with cosmetics we have immediately after waking up. Our morning in the bathroom:
-  body soap or gel,
toothpaste,
shampoo,
body creams
- hair gels,
- antiperspirant, deodorant or perfume.  

We have to use cosmetic products to clean the body, to smell good and to be healthy (higenic).
So, as you can see the cosmetics are everyday with us- it is the part of our life.  

Please note that not all cosmetics for daily care can be healthy for your body. Most of them, even those expensive branded, contain chemicals that are absorbed into our body causing a very serious diseases. In most cases we are not even aware of the problem. It is no secret that in the cosmetic industry they use toxic chemicals, some of them are dangerous in contact with plain water, human sweat, and some react in conjunction with other products.It turns out that the harmful chemicals can be found not only in these cheap products, but also in a number of branded, often very expensive cosmetics.

So ... when you decide to spend  your money for cosmetics, it is worth check if the products are not poisoning your body. Cosmetic companies always indicate on the label the chemical composition  which contein product and it is worth to pay attention to this information.  

When buying cosmetics, carefully read the label and avoid these chemicals and their derivatives:

When buying cosmetics or any other product, check the label does not contain harmful chemicals, parabens, such as:
 Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isopropylparaben , Propylparaben, Butylparaben,
Benzylparaben, Glutaraldehyde, Hexamidine-Diisethionate, Phenol,
Phenyl Mercuric Acetate, Phenyl Mercuric Borate, Benzetonium Chloride.


When buying cosmetics, always check the label if the product does not contain harmful aluminum salts, such as:
Aluminium hydroxide, Aluminium oxide, Aluminium silicate, Aluminium stearate
Aluminium starch octenylsuccinate, Aluminium Chloride, Aluminium Chlorohydrate
Aluminium Chlorohydrex, Aluminium Chlorohydrex PG, Aluminium Distearate
Aluminium Sesquichlorohydrate, Aluminium Stearate, Aluminium Tristearate, Aluminium Zirconium Trichlorohydrex GLY.

Beware of these cosmetics that contain hazardous to health paraffin compounds:
Paraffinum Liquidum, Paraffin, Synthetic Wax, Isoparaffin, Mineral Oil
Vaseline, Petrolatum, Ceresin, Isododecane, Isobutane, Isohexadecane
Ozokerite, Cera Microcristallina

Remember when you are going to buy any cosmetic, you should know that cosmetics manufacturers are obliged to place on the labels of the products their composition. It is your choice that you are buing sometihing. Use your freedom and choose well for yourself.

 People with weak eyes should equip themselves with a magnifying glass which will allow a correct reading of the content.

Follow Weekend II







Every occasion for movement is good. Sometimes we are dreaming about lazy- couch time Saturday. But sometimes we just must move- move a lot. Perfect proposition for an active Saturday is snowshoeing.

Snowshoeing on the sunny terraces  of mountains is just a dream come true. We were celebrating the first day of Spring in the mountains- still full of snow.  Snowshoe walking is a fascinating sport for nature-lovers and sportsmen. The quietness on the countryside together with the soft crunching of the snow... simply love it!
